Ways For Keeping Warm During Winter

It’s now the coldest time of the year, fact. We can feel the cold air even when ensconced in our living rooms with the heating on.

Cold winters and blustery storms leave me cold, literally! I’m at my best with the sun on my back. I know some think differently, but that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

As I can’t make the weather any warmer, I have to stay warm and try to save money; here are my top tips for both.

A fireplace blower is a great idea if you have a fireplace you use regularly. Instead of the heat just reaching the hearth as it normally does, it will warm the entire room.

The fan basically spreads the heat throughout the room that the fireplace generates. This means that you can do without the heating, thus saving you money. The heat will even reach the far corners of the room so everyone will benefit.

You need never get into a cold bed again if you get yourself a heated blanket. Run very cheaply by electricity these are fantastic for warming your bed.

They can be left on all night, but a lot to have them turned down or off completely as once they are warm they stay warm under the covers. A great sleep is guaranteed either way.

If you have a skylight; chances are that there are draughts coming through it. Fitting a simple blind that completely covers the window will keep the cold air out and the warm air in.

These little touches can save you a lot of money through the long wintry months. Even if you only try one you will see a difference.
